In the year 1433H, on 30th Shawwal Mukarram, I was blessed with the sharaf of misaq upon the haath mubarak of Mufaddal Moula TUS, then mansoos of Syedna Mohammad Burhanuddin RA.
While seated in the queue, as I awaited my turn, I curiously kept noticing Moulana TUS, as He TUS was greeting everyone with a radiant smile. And so, I kept praying “moula mari taraf bhi dekhi ne tabassum farmawe”.
It was my turn then, and I advanced towards Moula TUS.
Just as I sat in front of Moula TUS, somebody else presented an araz and Moula TUS turned to him and attended the araz. My turn ended, and I was out.
Following the bethak, I could not stop crying. I kept pleading as my tears flowed “moula ye maari taraf dekhi ne tabassum na kidu, maara ghana gunah che”.
With my eyes full of tears and heart filled with grief, I fell asleep. That very night, I had a dream.
I was sitting on a road, amongst a crowd of mumineen who were waiting for Mufaddal Moula’s TUS arrival. I had somehow managed to get a place in the first row.
After a while, Moula TUS arrived.
As Moula TUS moved forth me, He TUS stopped. With a beaming tabassum on His TUS face, Moula TUS turned to me and affirmed “mein ye gai kaale taru misaaq lidu thu ne?”. “Jee Moula” I replied in a trembling voice.
With an unceasing tabassum, Moula TUS then further asked “tu khush che?”, to which I somehow managed to respond “Jee Moula”, and He TUS then progressed ahead stating “mane bhi ghani khushi thai che”.
Moula usually states “mumineen mane tamari ghani fikar che”, and these are not just words. Its a promise.

Moulana Mufaddal Saifuddin’s TUS discourses comprise of various elements, amongst which, some remain constant. Dua mubarak and prayers for mumineen is one of them. Whatever the occasion, whichever the place, the portion of dua mubarak is something which is always a part of His TUS discourses.
On one instance, during His TUS waaz mubarak on the Urs Mubarak of Syedna Qutbuddin Shaheed RA in Ahmedabad, Moulana TUS was praying for mumineen, pleading Allah TA for the safety of mumineen from all kinds of worldly and unworldly disasters, diseases and distresses.
Amidst His plea, Moulana TUS, with a keen intent, specifically did dua mubarak for those who were burned. It was something not common. I was surprised, and it kept me wondering.
Until after the waaz mubarak, I received an arzi by a mumin, requesting dua mubarak and shifa from Moulana TUS concerning a child who was severely burned. What happened thereafter was no surprise. The child was saved, and is living happily under the thanda saaya of our beloved Moula TUS.
It was then, when I was able to comprehend the cause of Moulana’s TUS sudden dua mubarak for the burnt.
It is apparent how the spontaneous and ‘unheard of’ dua mubarak expressed by Moulana TUS and the events that took place afterwards were anything but a coincidence.
Moulana TUS is our spiritual father and mother, and thus, He TUS listens to our hearts.
Marhoom Shk Mustafa Bhai Currim

It is suffice to say that Janab Shk Mustafa Bhai Currim had the sharaf of serving Moulana TUS and His TUS honorable family his entire life. He had a habit of sharing his reflections based on the countless shanaat of Huzureala TUS he frequently used to witness.
This account was narrated by Janab Shk Mustafa Bhai Currim to Mulla Mufaddal Bhai Shk Zainuddin Bhai during Janab’s visit to Colombo, following Moulana’s TUS safar mubarak to Ahmedabad in the year 1436. Mulla Mufaddal Bhai had the pleasure of hosting Janab in Saifee Villa.

Seldom does one come across a unique personality whose loss creates a void in the lives of many – and to this league belonged Janab Sh Mustafa Bhai Currim.
The devastating news of his sudden demise stunned mumineen into shock, disbelief and total despair.
Sh Mustafa Bhai was a warrior. He had the voice of a gladiator and the soft heart of a true friend. He was the battle-horse amongst the other steeds, trained and disciplined in the art of khidmat.
He was an exemplary personality, the perfect blend of character, yin and yang. He was your teacher, your friend, your mentor, your adviser, someone you know you could count on, and always lent you his ear. All this along with fact that he was one of the most renowned, most trusted and most dynamic khidmat guzaars of our time.
Some may ask, “what did he do?” “what did he handle?”. I would reply, “you’re asking the wrong question, what didn’t he do?” No-one would ever know what his responsibilities comprised of – but those who had a hint of it, knew that it was out of the norm. No task was too much for him, and no matter how big or how hard, he was always calm and collected, and never seemed un-phased. All this, while he maintained his fond humor, the simplicity of normality, tranquility, and the most important human values of love and compassion.
Janab Shk Mustafa Bhai following Moula TUS in Saifee Villa, Colombo, Sri Lanka.He set an example for all khidmat guzaars by his work ethic, his multi-tasking, his dedication, and his never seizing – unwavering love for Jamea.
We pray to Allah TA to elevate his soul to the loftiest realms of Jannat. He served Moula TUS on earth, and we know, wherever he is, he will continue to do so.

I have been lucky enough to be in the hazrat imamiyah of Syedna Taher Saifuddin RA and Syedna Mohammad Burhanuddin RA regularly in Mumbai, since my tender age of five-seven.
At the time of Moulana Taher Saifuddin RA, I used to get the sharaf of qadambosi and salaam, almost every night. Even after 1960, when we shifted to Khar (a suburb of Mumbai), we continued to be present in Maula’s RA bethak.
On one instance I was called alone at night.
After the bethak, I got late and missed the last train back home. It was around 1 AM in the morning when I started to walk. Recalling and recollecting the blessings of Moula, I unexpectedly managed to traverse the Grant Road, Pedar Road, Haji Ali, Mahim, Bandra to Khar, nearly 14 Km, just in two hours.
Consequently when my mother did araz to Maula RA narrating about this; Maulana Taher Saifuddin RA stated: “Taher nahi, hamari mohabbat ma rasto bhi laptai jai”.
To walk across the road of life, it is the mohabbat of Moula we need, nothing else.

Each time a Mumin looks at Moula, all that he/she hopes and prays for is ‘two seconds’. That’s right. ‘Aik Nazar’..
And here, I have an account to tell.
Burhanuddin Moula RA was present in Sidhpur for Asharah Mubarakah, and fortunately our group of muminaat were there for the ‘zenabiyah’ course. After attending the Asharah Mubarakah we decided to present a shukr zyafat. A friend and I from Karachi decided to araz a gold coin towards the zyafat.
As our araz was forwarded, the relevant khidmat guzaar turned our request down as Moula RA did not appear to have any vacant date.
Nevertheless, my friend and I decided to araz the gold coin to Moula RA.
We were standing on the staircase where Moula RA was to arrive in some time.
As Moula RA arrived, we both presented our gold coins to which Moula RA inquied,“Aa gaini saa waste araz karo chho?”. We replied “Moula, aa shukur na najwa araz karye chhey”, to which Moula RA pronounced: “Khuda ghani barakat aape!”, and repeated it a couple of times.
Following the acquaintance, the same night, my friend and I went for Moula’s RA qadambosi. It was my friend’s turn while I was standing behind her, as Moula RA addressed her: “Tame mane gaini araz kidi thi ne?” and she only managed to say “Ji moula, mein ane maari friend..” before she was whisked out of the line.
My turn came. No response from Moula RA.
I wept.
When I returned to my utara, I could not stop crying. Was it because of my sins that Moula RA had not responded to me?, I thought.
A week after, I was standing in the masjid sehen for didar.
Moula RA was exiting from the masjid and entering the sehen where thousands of mumineen were waiting for Him RA.
I stood hands folded with tears in my eyes imploring for his momentary attention when that very moment Moula RA pointed towards me, walked closer and said“Gaini tuyye araz kidi thi ne? Tashreef mili tane?”
He RA would not miss you in thousands. But yes, He RA is deeply missed by thousands today.

In 1408H, Burhanuddin Moula RA was in Pakistan for Ashara Mubaraka, during which the renovation of Masakin Mohamadiyah, where a student of Al Jamea Tus Saifiyah stays through the year, was completed.
On the occasion, all students received the sharaf of qadambosi, and were required to proceed according to their classes.
I was studying in Darajah Tasea (9).
As I got up for qadambosi and got close to Moulana RA, a khidmat guzaar presented the araz; “Moula darajah tasea shuru thai chhey Moula, ane darajah ma aikkaj talebe-ilm chhey”.
This image was taken just as Sheikh Mustafa Bhai arose for qadambosi, and the araz was made “Moula darajah tasea shuru thai chhey Moula, ane darajah ma aikkaj talebe-ilm chhey”. One could evidently see a sparkle on Moula’s RA face. He RA laid his hand on my hands, assembled everyone around, and stated “Dekho aikkaj talebe ilm darajah ma padhi rahya chhey!”.
He RA then repeated it a couple of times and finally brushed a masallah on my face, quoting a Hadees Mubarak, which has changed my life since then: ‘Al mumino wahdahu jama’atun’ (Mumin alone is a group).
His RA words have enlightened thousands, and are still doing so.

Few years ago, I traveled to Mumbai, to present my wajebat in the Hazrat Imammiya of Aqa Moula Syedna Mohammad Burhanuddin RA.
When I entered the room where Moula RA was presiding, I totally forgot all I had precisely memorized and rehearsed earlier, to seek dua for my parents, brothers, job et cetera.
While I stood in front of Moula RA with tears in my eyes, I spontaneously uttered: “Moula bairo hamela che, naam ni araz che”.
I hadn’t finished my words as Moula RA immediately pronounced ‘Murtaza’. I reiterated the araz once again, and Moula RA repeated ‘Murtaza’.
Before I could further progress the araz, I was on my way to the exit.
I was surprised. Moula RA did not inquire about the names of the parents neither Moula RA asked whether we already had a baby. Just one name ‘Murtaza’.
I blamed myself as I thought I had blown the opportunity by not presenting the araz properly. ‘I should have written the araz’, ‘I should have gone through someone’, were the distressing thoughts which kept me unsettled for about 3 months.
Until we were blessed with a baby boy on 18th November.
The story does not end here.
I was awestruck when my son’s chatti coincided with the very day in which Rasool Allah SAW appointed Ali Murtaza AS as his successor.
‘Murtaza’, He RA had already chosen the name for us.

It was Syedna Taher Saifuddin’s RA final visit to Karachi and I was a student in STD 3 in the CMS school, which was located very near to Adam Masjid, where Syedna Taher Saifuddin RA would usually preside over bethaks.
Relatively, getting the sharaf of qadambosi in those days could be well described as ‘a piece of cake’. Mostly, the bethaks would be held in forenoon, hence, sneaking out of the school for qadambosi was part of my routine.
One such day, the recess bell went off and instinctively, I headed towards the bethak, until I realized that I had nothing to perform salam with, besides what my mother had handed me that morning; 15 paisa to bring home some fresh mint (pudina) and coriander (dhanya) leaves.
We were crimping and saving in that stage of life.
Ignorant of everything else, I split the 15 paisa into three halves of 5 paisa each with the intention of doing Moulana’s RA qadambosi thrice.
I rushed towards the masjid, performed salam twice and rejoined the queue for the third time.
After the third time, Moulana RA looked at me and said, “yahan aaw”. I stood there bewildered whilst Moulana RA with a radiant smile on his face queried; “15 paisa to khatam thai gaya, hawey tu dhanyo ne pudino kem lesey?”.
I was startled.
Moulana RA, thereupon, instructed Miyan saheb Shk Ibrahim Bhai Yamani to bring 20 paisa to be handed over to me and said, “aa 15 paisa no dhanyo ne pudino leje, aney 5 paisa si, aa masjid na bahar aik bakery che, maney khabar chey taney ehnu ‘cake powder’ ghanu bhaawey chey, aa bija 5 paisa si ye khai ne jaaje.”
Unable to comprehend the magnitude of what had just transpired, I was merrily on my way and did as I was told.
When I reminiscent that fateful day today, I run out of words to express the overwhelming emotion that fills heart, but Moulana knows what it conceals and He fulfils what it wishes for.
For it was none other than Syedna Taher Saifuddin RA who would state the following sentence with sheer confidence; “tamra ghar ma aik chamchi girey chey, to mara kaan ma ehnu awaaz awey chey.”

Formerly, during Burhanuddin Moula’s RA 100th Milad, Tazkerat attracted attention of a Muslim-Indian in Mumbai, who over heard the name of Moulana Mohammad Burhanuddin RA, and anxiously intervened; “mein Syedna Burhanuddin ka bahut bara mureed hoon”.
This is his story:
“I have been required to do the arrangements of all the zabeehat in Saify Mahal for 18 years. I used to refer to Syedna Burhanuddin as Mullaji until one day, when I was asked to come to Saify Mehel, I went there and found no one at the entrance. While inquiring about the bhai sahebs who would usually meet me at the entrance, I reached the second floor where Syedna Burhanuddin was seated in a hall with a reasonable crowd around him.
Woh kuch bayaan farma rahe thhey – unki awaz aur unka bayaan sunte hi mein wahaan kharaa ho gaya aur bhool gaya ke mein wahaan kyun aaya tha.
Jab unka bayan khatam hua, tab mujhe ye ehsaas hua ki mein po’ne teen (2 hours and 45 minutes) ghante se kharaa tha aur unka bayan sun raha tha. Mere aankho mein aansu or aqal ko hairat ke aik insaan itni der tak – is umr mein – aisa bayan kaisey kar sakta hai. Mein samajh gaya ko wo hamare jaise insaan nahin hain, aur tabb se mein unko Syedna bulata hun.
I asked him to pray for Moulana RA to which he replied : “Hum unke liye kya dua karenge, is zubaan se unke jaise shakhs ke liye dua ho nahi sakti.
Dua to hamare dil se nikalti hai – ke khuda unko sehat de aur lambi umr de. Mujhe aaj fakhar hai – kyun ke bohot kum khush naseeb hote hain – jo unka didar karte hain, aur awaz sunte hain”.
Needless to say, the world cries in His RA remembrance today.

It was 1428 H, and Burhanuddin Moula RA had bestowed my homeland the honor of hosting Ashara Mubaraka. If my memory serves right, it was a Thursday, and a qadambosibethak was scheduled for the mumineen of Colombo.
I had recently finished memorizing the Quran (by the eternal dua of Molana RA and divine guidance). Thus, mindful of the effort I had invested in the process, for two long, arduous years and terrified by the thought that I would forget the Quran, I ended up in the qadambosi que with an araz, seeking Moula’s RA dua so that I wouldn’t forget the Quran.
As I got closer to Moula’s RA, I saw Mehlum BS Zainuddin DM collecting all the araiz. Ergo, I handed my araz to him, explaining what it was about. Mehlum BS DM asked me whether I was in Jamea, nodded and went back to his position.
It was my turn, and I advanced towards Moula RA completely unaware of what awaited me.
While I was performing qadambosi, Mehlum BS apprised Moula RA of the details of my araz. The moment Moula RA heard that I had just finished memorizing the Quran, He RA, almost instantly, with an utmost rapture inquired “Akkha Quran yaad che?!”, I replied “Jee Moula”. Moula RA continued “Jamea ma parho cho?!”, I iterated “Jee Moula”.
Thereupon, I glanced towards Moula RA one last time and was guided towards the exit. Overwhelmed and moved, I hardly managed to walk.
Just as I stepped outside, I heard a shout “Wo Haafiz ne bulawo, Haafiz ne bulawo”. Initially, I wasn’t sure whether it was me who was being referred to or someone else. I turned around and saw Mehlum BS, and as soon as he spotted me, he vigorously gestured to come inside.
Wherefore, I was standing in front of Moula RA again.
As I trembled in a state of extreme wonderment, Burhanuddin Moula RA looked at me, and stated “Subhanallazi asra be abdehi… (Surat ul Isra Juz 15) waha si parho”. I was flabbergasted. I was blank.
As I hesistantly started praying, I heard all the Bhaisahebs hushing the crowd, crying out “quran parhai che..sagla khamosh thai jaw”. This evidently made me even more nervous.
I started reciting the first ayat. Once I reached the end of it, I erred. I don’t quite recall who was standing behind me but he corrected me. Thereafter, I halted.
Pin drop silence.
Burhanuddin Moula RA nodded suggesting that I should continue, but I was unable to recollect anything.
Silence. Moula RA nodded again.
Quietness was all I was able to respond with.
Everyone around me urged “parho parho”, but I stood passive, deadlocked, eyes fixed on Moula RA and tears pouring down my cheeks.
Moula RA inclined towards me and instructed me to come closer. I obeyed. Moula RA then placed his haath mubarak on my right shoulder and pronounced with sublime affection “Khuda Barakat Aape”.
I can still feel His RA hand on my shoulder, I can still hear his voice reverberating in my ears.
Whatever I am today, is because I am fortunate to have had acquired those three simple but profound words.

Many years ago my son and I traveled to Moulana Mohammed Burhanuddin’s RA hazrat‘aaliya to present wajebaat.
We were in Saifee Mahal when a Bhaisaheb saw us and said; “Tamein wahaan Karachi walao saathey jai ne betho”. My son and I were about to join them, until someone on duty there intervened and said: “you are not allowed in here”.
The next moment, we were shown our way out of the hall.
We kept our calm and waited outside for Didaar Mubarak. While standing there, a Bhaisaheb saw us and guided us in again. It was a matter of time, and we were amongst the Karachi Jamaat.
While the Ummaal of Karachi were performing araz, my son and I were standing behind the railings doing didar. Unexpectedly Moulana RA turned his attention towards us, waved his haath mubarak and directed us to come to the other side of the barricade.
Whereupon, we promptly went towards Moulana RA, and performed qadambosi. Meanwhile, Moulana RA had his nazar mubarak fixed on us. Just as we were on our way out, Shehzada Ammar bhaisaheb DM and Shehzada Qusai bhaisaheb DM came hurrying towards us and said: “Moulana yaad farmawe chhey!”
Startled and bewildered, we were escorted back to Moulana Mohammad Burhanuddin RA.
As I descended on Moulana’s RA qadam mubarak I heard Moulana RA pronouncing to everyone nearby; “tamne khabar chhey bawaji saheb aane khatt likhta tha?”
Shaking, awed and unable to respond, tears streamed down my cheeks in gratitude, as Burhanuddin Moula RA smiled.
It was a moment to cherish every second of, and I will, till the end of my life.
The very first account shared with Tazkerat was from Shk Mohammed Bhai. It was due to his blessings, guidance, motivation and duas’ that Tazkerat was able to initiate such an act. His purity and sanctity was the reason people were attracted to him. His charm and piety was simply an inspiration for the young generation. Suffice to say that today a great poet, visionary, mentor, businessman, leader and a true lover of Syedna Taher Saifuddin RA, Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin RA and Huzureala TUS, left us.
Tazkerat was also fortunate to view some of the hand-written letters which Syedna Taher Saifuddin RA personally sent him. His love towards Moula, and Moula’s affection towards him was to such an extent that Syedna Taher Saifuddin RA once wrote to him in one of his letters stating; “Mohammed, tu mane ghano yaad awey chhey”.
May Allah Ta’aala bless his soul and grant him Shafa’at of Panjatan Paak and Du’aat Mutlaqeen. Ameen
