Moassir Aisa Teri Marhamat Ka Marham Hai, Ke Zakhme Dil Ka Mere Ilteyaam Hota Hai

They say you live once, you die once. But I disagree.

Doctors as well as everyone, who hears this life story of a man still alive after having three major heart attacks, conclude that my life is a miracle in itself.

I suffered from three severe heart attacks and after every attack the doctors were hopeless – saying “very small chances of living.” Each time around, Moulana RA blessed me with Deedar and Shifa in my dream and granted me a new life.

I will never forget the Tabassum of Moulana RA during the third attack, when Moulana RA stated “aa tane teejee waqat bachawane aawi rahyo chu”. Whenever I recall this, I cannot stop crying.

He RA often used to say: “mumineen tame hamesha mara dil na qareeb cho”, assuring that even being thousands of miles away, He RA was never distant.

Likewise, He RA has not left, and will always be there. A belief, every Mumin is living with.

Naa’ibe Mushkil Kusha Ho Khalq Ke Haajat Rawa, Sab Ko Aafat Se Bachana Koi Tum Se Seekh Jaae

Burhanuddin Moula RA was present in Karachi at the time of his 93rd Milaad Mubarak, an event that was reported in all local newspapers.

On the second day of Moulas RA arrival, while I was on my way to the office, I asked the Baloch driver of my three-wheeler rickshaw to give me the newspaper he had. My reaction when I read the headlines on the city killings was: ‘Oh my God’ The driver asked, ‘Kya hua, bhai?’ I informed him what I read, with some alarm.

He smiled and replied, ‘ab sab theek hoga kiyunke peeron key peer aa gaye hai.’ I asked him ‘Who?’ He replied, ‘Bohra peer.’ Moulana Mohammad Burhanuddin RA he meant.

I pressed him further and he told me this story:

“In Chakiwara, where I live, there was a family who lost their son. They did everything to ascertain his whereabouts – without success. Then one of their Bohra friends advised them to write an application that could be delivered to Burhanuddin Moula’s RA  residence in Karachi. A few days later a reply was delivered. Moula RA gave the family of the lost boy, a tasbeeh to recite daily. Three days later, their son returned. The family was overjoyed. They told their Bohra friend that they would like to express their gratitude to Moulana RA.

The mumin bhai went to Burhani Mahal with his friend’s family for didar. When the boy saw Aqa Moula RA he abruptly shouted ‘This is the man who escorted me home’.

Till we returned back, I could see their tears flowing.

Kyun Na Dilchasp Ho Taqreer Shahe’wala Ki, Lutf So’ Tarah Ka Jab Aik Sukhun Se Nikle

In 1425, Burhanuddin Moula RA was present in Karachi for his 93rd milaad. Mumineen converged from near and far with different araa’iz and hadaaya on behalf of their respective cities.

We went from Qahera with a 93″ inch cake weighing 93 kgs built around the concept of a world map with an ayat from the Quran in-scripted on it.

The theme: Burhanuddin Moula RA would save us in this world.

Now when the cake was presented to Moulana RA, the Qasre-aali saahebo around him explained to him the theme. Someone said, “Moula, 93 kgs nu cake chhey’ and Moula RA asked to verify. Then Shehzada Taha bhaisaheb Najmuddin DM asked my father to submit a proper araz.

My father fumbled and quite inexplicably did not know what to say and he ended up saying “Moula aap aa dunya si chhuraawnaar chho!”.

Moulana RA called him closer, put his hand on my father’s hand and said, “Yahaan aawo! Tamne kahu chhu, na, tamne kahu chhu..tamein tamaam aalam-e-imaan ma mumineen taraf si mane mubarakbaadi araz karo chho!”

Small instance, but Moula RA taught us how to submit an araz in the proper way by rephrasing the theme; it also shows how He RA always had mumineen in his thoughts; he then smiled and had a spoonful of cake.

Na phire Dar Se Tere Koi Bhi Saa’il Mehroom, Bus Yahi Baat Tere Dil Ke Upar Aake Thani

In 1422 hijri, Burhanuddin Moula RA came to Dar us Salam and I had the privilege of being in khidmat.

Coincidentally, my wife Tasneem was expecting our third child and on one occasion, my wife and two daughters stood near Moula’s RA daarul imaarat with the intention of seeking his Dua Mubarak for a boy.

When Moulana RA came, we seized upon the opportunity to present our araz for a farzand“Moula! dikra ni ummeed chhey, bairo haamela chhey!” –  And while Moulana RA passed, he bestowed his intent nazar mubarak on my wife and then gently touched her hand saying “Khuda ummeed poori karse.”

The following day, I went to Mufaddal Moula TUS and related the incident. After hearing me out, he stated promptly: “Dikroj thaase! Naam burhanuddin rakhjo.”

My wife delivered a boy and when Moulana RA came to Dar us Salaam six months later, I went to Mufaddal Moula TUS and related the background, following which he took the child and placed it under Moulana’s RA Qadam Mubarak for barakat.

Jamal’e Paak Ke Dekhe Se Ho Shifa Usko, Jo Tujh Se Gar Koi Ba’ Haalat’e Saqeem Mile.

I suffered from gout(a medical condition usually characterized by recurrent attacks of acute inflammatory arthritis — a red, tender, hot, swollen joint); as a result I would not be able to rise from bed on a number of occasions. Some doctors pronounced it as ‘last stage’, saying that there was no cure for this.  I was also strictly prohibited from red-meat as it was more dangerous as poison for me.

In Colombo, I got the sharaf to be a part of mashaaik’s ziyaafat wherein I intimated Dr Moizbhaisaheb DM about my problem so that he could convey the araz to Burhanuddin Moula RA for shifa.

Doctor Moizbhaisaheb DM asked me to stand on the right of Moulana’s RA takht following which at the opportune time he submitted the araz.

Moulana RA turned and looked keenly at me for a few seconds – a look one could give all his wealth for – and as a result of that roohani nazar I have not had a single attack of gout thereafter.

I eat everything now. My doctor wife calls it a non-medical miracle.

Karenge Hum Se Nakeer’ein Jo Suwaal’e Amal, To Naam Lenge Tumhara Jawab Ke Badle

Burhanuddin Moula RA often said: “mein tamne koi waqat bhulnaar nathi

Just as he assured the responsibility for the after-life of every mumin, he continued to be their savior in this world as well.

Take my instance. My husband had an accident seven years ago as a result of which he lost his memory. Since age was not in his favour, his prospects of pulling through were best described as slim.

If one asked him his name, he would be blank. If a relative walked in, his face would be flicker-less, as he had almost lost his sight as well.

His doctor described him precisely: ‘as blank as a sheet of paper’.

We would try various alternatives. ‘Pappa, do you remember this?” No response.

We would ask, “Pappa, do you remember that?” No response.

Once we asked “Pappa, Maulana ne olkho cho, su naam che?”

And suddenly his brows arched and he shot back: “Kewi waat kare che, maula ne kaun na olkhe – Taher Saifuddin Maula aney Burhanuddin Maula!” And then back to silence.

A few hours before he expired, he interrupted his silence with “aa badha aya che, koi jaga jawanu che?”

We forget people. Maula TUS doesn’t.

Ankh Ko Ye Tere Chehre Ki Bashashat Yaad Hai, Ilm Ke Izhaar Mein Lab Ki Fasahat Yaad Hai, Haath Ki Tere Ye Haathon Ko Hararat Yaad Hai, Jald Howe Ab Tera Didar Burhan ul Huda, Mushkila Awe To Dewe Waar Burhan ul Huda

I suffered from severe eczema (dryness) in my hands for years.

I had experimented with various creams and medication but the problem persisted.

Finally, in 1997, Amate Syedna TUS was performing the talaqqi of Burhanuddin Moula RA when I took the opportunity to present my humble araz about my hands. Moula RA looked at them and said “Main shifaa aapu chhu!” and the unbelievable reality is that a problem that had persisted for years disappeared from that very day.

Burhane’din Shaha ni Jaho Jalali Dekho, Sultaan Moiz Ni Haqqan Izzat Talali Dekho

Imam Moiz AS once ordered one of his servants to prepare his bath. Some time later, when it was revealed that nothing had been done and the person entrusted with the duty had not even attempted to make any preparations. Everyone was furious and curious: what would the Imam’s AS reaction be?

The Imam AS arrived. Waited. Calm. Nothing else.  –  (Majalis Musaeraat)

This brings me to an instance when I was with Burhanuddin Moula RA, in London. Following a majlis, I received the sharaf of talaqqi as Maulana RA headed towards the lift. Before we could enter, someone had either summoned the lift to the basement or pressed some buttons inside the lift (without realizing), and off we went downstairs instead of upstairs. When we reached the basement, something else happened: the doors opened half way, and would not close. We tried closing them with our hands as we wanted to go up; they would just not open, nor would the lift move.

If you know the insides of an elevator – small, stuffy – you will understand why I was nervous. The first minute passed and I felt that the power would activate any instant and the door would open. Nothing happened. We could hear the voices of people outside the lift trying to do their bit to open the doors, but nothing helped.

The second minute passed. Then the third.

I was nervous. What would Moulana RA say?

The fourth minute passed. Then the fifth.

Suddenly, Moulana RA turned, smiled and asked: “Mehlam, tuyye kai dabawi lidu thhu? I stuttered: “Nahi, Moula, bairao kai aawi gaya hata… tesi shayad…”

They had called the fire engine, as they could not find the person who was in charge of maintenance, who had the master keys to the lift doors.

After a good seven minutes, the door opened.

When we stepped out of the lift, the expressions on the face of every mumin bhai and behn outside, were clearly visible. Nervous. Tense. Worried.

When Moula RA stepped outside, something fascinating and surprising happened. Moula RA, with all his calmness, looked up, smiled a charming broad smile and did ishaara with his mubarak hand towards each one present, expressing that there is nothing to worry about and everything was fine, and simply walked away, showing one of his heavenly and supreme attributes.

That is when my heart cried: “jo’ilto fidaak ya moulana”.

Uthae Haath Jo Behre Dua To, Asar Khud Dorta Ae Dua tak

I suffered from a disease as a result of which both my legs began to virtually fester, so much that even if my pajama touched my leg, it would bleed. It was so embarrassing that I lost the confidence to go out in public. I lost every last bit of hope when doctors I had visited informed me that they were unable to diagnose the disease.

One day upon a friend’s counsel, I visited a hakeem who said that there was a way to reduce the pain and gave me a syrup stating “Har roz raat ko sone se pehle ek-do ghoont peena parega”. It was alcohol.

I returned home weeping.

That night, I sat in front of Moulana Muqaddas’ Moulana Taher Saifuddin’s RA photograph in my hall and started to cry: “Moulana sagla tabeeb haar mani gaya chhey. Aap tabeeb-e-roohani chho! Aap kai amal farmaawo! Aap shifa inaayat farmaawo!”

With tears in my eyes I fell asleep.

In a dream-state I perceived that I was performing Moula Muqaddas’ RA qadambosi wherein I showed my legs to him and asked for shifa. I still remember Moulana’s RA voice stating: “Bhai Burhanuddin paase gaya ke nahi?” I shook my head. Moula RA guided: “Bhai Burhanuddin paase jaao! Still in the dream, I saw Moulana Burhanuddin RA sitting next to Moulana Muqaddas RA and so I went to Burhanuddin Moula RA, repeated the araz, showed him my legs and Burhanuddin Moula RA, with a beaming tabassum, said “khuda shifa aape”.

I woke up with my legs allowing to me walk for the first time in a long while. In a short time thereafter, the disease simply disappeared.

I am walking fit and fine into my late-eighties, and I have not even experienced a minor pain in my legs since that dream.

Hain Jo Burhanedeen Shaahe Zamaa’n, Raaz Jaane Wahi Hai Har Dil ke

By the azeem ehsaan of Moulana TUS, all my children were fortunate to study in Al Jamea tus Saifiyah.

Above standard seven, one is required to appear in the final exams in front of Moulana TUS, in which a student is questioned by the four Umara ul Jamea by the raza mubarak of Aqa Moula TUS, though in some rare cases some students receive the sharaf to be questioned directly by Moulana TUS who listens to every answer.

It was my daughter’s turn to sit in front of Moulana Burhanuddin RA for her Shafahi Imtehaan. Just a few seconds before her name was called, I prayed: “Moula, maara paanch farzand ne jamea ni barakat mili chhey, aaj aap ehsaan farmawi ne mara farzand ne aap sawaal puchiye”

As Shehzada Saab DM was going to ask her a question, Moulana Muqaddas RA intervened and questioned her.

I could not believe what was happening. While she was answering, I prayed “Moula, aa nemat par aapnu shukur karu chu, aney em dua karu chu ke aap mara aa farzand ne dua ni araz karwanu farmawiye.” I hadn’t finished my words when Moulana Muqaddas RA pronounced “Dua ni araz karo”.

We often heard Him RA saying “mein jaanu chu tamara dilo ma ghani ummeedo che”.

I experienced it that day.
