Ho Sarfaraaz Do’no’n Jahaan Main Woh La Kalaam, Jiss Par Nigah e Meher Ae’ Teri Miyaa’n Rahe

In 1944, my Dadabawa was an active-leading-member of the Muslim League political party. In Dahod, Muslim League came into power, and Dadabawa was the sole reason for it. Due to his political position, he started to receive numerous threats, and life became risky for him and for us.

Before it was too late Syedna Taher Saifuddin RA ordered Dadabawa to immediately leave Dohad and head to Karachi. Dadabawa was blessed with the sharaf of qadambosi of Syedna Taher Saifuddin RA. Moulana RA grasped his hand and gently pushed it back and said to him: “Qurban Hussain, tu Karachi chalo jaa”. At the time, Dadabawa hesitantly submitted to Moulana RA that all his belongings are in India, for which Moulana RA had the same reply; “tu Karachi chalo jaa”.

Due to his activities and commitments, his departure was prolonged for a period of three months. Dadabawa went to Badri Mahal, Mumbai regarding his work, where Syedna RA saw him. Syedna RA summoned him and said to him with an urgency; “main tane kidu thu Karachi chalo ja, tu haji yahan sukaam che?! main tane 15 din apu chu”.

After his encounter with Syedna Taher Saifuddin RA in Mumbai, everything fell into place and Dadabawa reached Karachi. Upon his arrival he was interviewed by Janab Taher bs (Karachi Aamil Saheb in 1944). During their meeting, Janab Taher bs received a telegram from Syedna Saifuddin RA stating; “Shk Qurban Hussain Adeeb ne Karachi mokla che, ehnu khayaal rakhjo, ane ehney Karachi si bahar Jawa na dejo”.

Dadabawa continued his political career in Muslim League and created good ties with Quaid e Azam Mohammed Ali Jinnah.

After a few years came the year of 1947. The year of the Indo-Pak-Partition. The year of the Independence of both, Pakistan and India. Syedna Taher Saifuddin RA had sent his heir apparent (Mansoos) Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin RA across the border to celebrate 14th August in Pakistan, and stayed back to celebrate 15th August in India.

Those who are even slightly aware of the Indo-Pak partition history, will know how bloody and gory the event was. There were trains, full of immigrants, that left India and reached Pakistan with only martyrs, and vis-à-vis. It was not only the migration

which was gory, but Hindu-Muslim riots were taking place all over the country, and the train system was apparently the most dangerous mode of transport.

Having witnessed all these worrisome events, Dadabawa decided to submit an araz to Moulana RA and with his permission and raza mubarak, call his family to Karachi.

Syedna RA granted raza mubarak but, advised him to stay in complete discretion, as Dadabawa was WANTED in Dohad and its surroundings.

Obeying Moulana’s RA farmaan, Dadabawa came to Dahod where we stayed in discretion for a period of three months, as the earliest flight we could get from Ahmedabad to Karachi was after 3 months. As our departure neared, the Hindu-Muslim riots became worse and most train-services had stopped. There was no way to reach Ahmedabad in time.

Out of desperation, we submitted an araz to Moulana RA and sought his advice and wisdom. I cannot recall the exact date, but Moulana RA graciously granted Dadabawa a specific date and instructed to catch a “4 waaja ni train” from Ratlam to Ahmedabad, and strictly added not to consider taking any other train.

Dadabawa bowed his head and complied to Moulana’s RA instructions.

On the given date of our departure, we reached the train station before time and inquired about the train. The station master in Dahod was shocked, and mockingly told Dadabawa to return home as no trains were scheduled to Dahod’s train-station due to on-going riots. He added that the train they were waiting for had stopped its services since 3 months.

Confused and worried, Dadabawa urgently sent a telegram and sought Moulana’s RA help. The reply suggested to wait and do as Moulana RA had instructed.

Hence, Dadabawa ignored the station master and waited with all of us.

When the clock ticked four o’clock, we heard a train approaching.

I was not surprised.

What follows surprised me:

We boarded the train, loaded our belongings, and migrated safely to Pakistan. During our train-journey from Ratlam to Ahmedabad, the only people who were present in the train, that had stopped functioning for 3 months, were: The train-driver, and a handful of staff.

These were times when trains would reach their destinations either burnt, or flooded with blood. We reached Pakistan without breaking a drop of sweat.

When Moula says; “Mumineen! Tame mari mohabbat karo cho, pan main tamne haji zyada mohabbat karu chu”, he means it.

Jab Tere Baab e Ijabat Pe Pohnchi Hai Dua, Peshwai Wahan Khud Aake Asar Karta Hai

Burhanuddin Moula RA once arrived in Ujjain. Mamlook e Syedna TUS prepared an Arzi humbly and desperately requesting for the Dua Mubarak of Moulana RA for conceiving a baby. I submitted a copy of draft in the “Hawaij” department where thousands of Mumineen submit they’re Arzis’. Days passed, and I kept waiting for the jawab.

After a week, in the same Safar Mubarak, I was blessed with the opportunity of Qadambosi. After I got to kiss Moulana’s RA qadam mubarak, I quickly put forth the Arzi I had previously written. Moulana RA had a quick look at the Arzi, and instantly replied; “Aano Jawab mein api chuko chu”.

These words and Moulana’s RA affirmative response was a cause of complete satisfaction.

Following the Safar Mubarak, I was blessed with a child.

Dil Muztarib Hai Yu’n Teri Pabosi Ke Liye, Basta Ho Jis Tarah Koi A’aho Rasa’n Ke Beech

In 1433, it was Burhanuddin Moula’s RA last Ashara Mubarakah in Surat. I was amongst those fortunate mumineen who attended both Moua; Moulana Mufaddal Saifuddin TUS commencing Waaz Majlis in the morning, and Burhanuddin Moula RA presiding over the Matam Majlis in the evening.

It was long since I had done Burhanuddin Moula’s RA salam, and I was never blessed with the sharaf of Mufaddal Moula’s TUS salam either. Therefore, it was the only dua I prayed for, every day during Ashara Mubaraka. Hundreds of mumineen were getting sharaf of qadambosi and salam including my friends, family and almost everyone I knew of. I kept praying.

As the days passed, I started to feel uneasy and my thirst increased. Every time I did deedar, I wept and my heart cried; “moula mane bhi naseeb thai”. Until it was Ashura, my last hope. The last qadambosi bethak ended. I was heart–broken, and I grieved immensely. Had I sinned so much? Moula, please forgive me; the only thoughts that came to my mind.

It was 12th of Moharram, and my last day in Surat. I was standing amongst a crowd of mumineen for, probably, my last deedar before I left. I waited with a salam envelope in my hand, and with eyes full of tears. Mufaddal Moula TUS arrived. As He TUS progressed in front of the crowd I was standing in, my heart called; “Moula mane maaf karjo”, and I cried out; “Moula”.

Moula TUS turned around, looked at me, stretched out his haath mubarak over the crowd towards me, placed it on my hands, acknowledged the lifafa, smiled and progressed ahead. I could not stop crying.

I went to my utara, recalled what I had experienced, and with my eyes wet, I slept. In my dream, I saw Burhanuddin Moula RA leading the tilawat dua in the Evan Mubarak of Al Jamea Tus Saifiyah, where He RA was seated on a gaadi. I was standing there with abna’ul Jamea, and I suddenly heard a behnsaab instructing me to do salam. As soon as I bent down to perform salam, I wept uncontrollably. Burhanuddin Moula RA pulled me closer, extended his haath Mubarak so I could perform salam, kissed my forehead and said; “khush che, hawe roje nai”.

Indeed, Moula can never see tears in his children’s eyes.

Gae Hain Door Tak Charche Tere Afaaq’e Aalam Mein, Sakha Ke Jood Ke Faiz’o Ata’ Ke Meherbaani Ke

During the time when I was expecting my second child, I did araz to Moulana Mohammad Burhanuddin RA desiring for a baby boy, and Moulana RA replied; “teen na pachi thase”, and it happened likewise.

After three daughters, when I conceived again, I was certain about what Moulana RA had affirmed, thus, me and family had already started preparing for an arrival of a baby boy. In the meantime I had a dream, in which I saw someone approaching me. I comprehended the personage as Moulana RA himself, in view of the divine charisma, carried and transmitted by him. Benefiting from the opportunity I again did araz for a boy and heard the following reply; “Hatim naam rakhjo”, to which I responded; “mara papa nu naam bhi hatim che” and the reply was; “Hatim aj naam rakhjo”. I woke up content and satisfied.

Following the dream, I faxed an araz to Moulana Mohammad Burhanuddin RA through Burhani Mahal requesting for the name of the child. The very next day I had a call from Burhani mahal to come and receive the jawab of my araz. I rushed to Burhani mahal, overjoyed by the prompt reply. The moment I entered, everyone started to congratulate me, I wasn’t sure what was happening, and inquired. Looking at my confused expressions, I was informed about the jawab of my arzi in which Burhanuddin Moula RA stated; “je sapna ma naam kidu che, yej rakhe”. I was stunned and could not apprehend what to react; unaware of an azeem nemat I was yet to receive.

A few moments later, I was handed over a piece of paper which had Burhanuddin Moula’s RA khatt Mubarak in it and it read; “Hatim”.

You might run out of desires, but there is not an end to Moula’s blessings.

Hai Shouq Dast Bosi Liye Humko Is Liye, Ankho’n Ko Apne Mujib’e Taskee’n Hai Push’t Dast

In 1433, I went Mumbai to attend imtehaan. I hadn’t done moula’s qadambosi for a heart aching period of last ten years. During imtehaan we found out that mumineen and talabat ul ilm from Pakistan were bestowed upon the sharaf of qadambosi.

Everyday we used to make it to the bethak, but due to the high number of zyafats we would be left out. Soon imtehaan concluded, and we were instructed to leave Mumbai.

I was shattered. It came to a point that we even got qadambosi stickers but could not reach Moula RA. Eventually, we had to leave for Surat. On the day of our departure, we heard all who stayed back got their qadambosi done.

My eyes would not stop tearing. I went to do Syedna Abdeali Saifuddin’s RA ziyarat and took his wasila mubarak. Without a second thought, I got on a local train and hurried to Mumbai. Upon reaching Saifee Mahal there were about a hundred mumineen in front of me. I had no hope. Suddenly, one khidmat guzar inquired if there were any talabat ul ilm. I raised my neck high and shouted out to his call. The next moment I was in Moula’s RA hazrat aaliya.

As I advanced toward Moulana RA for qadambosi, Dr. Moiz Bs recognised me. I was performing qadambosi, not knowing what more to expect, and Dr. Moiz Bs pronounced to Moulana RA; “Jamea na Talabat che”. Hearing that, Moulana RA smiled at me.

Deep down in my heart, I was longing to submit an araz to Moulana RA for my sister’s health. I went to Mufaddal Moula TUS, rephrased my araz in my mind and performed qadambosi. Although the only word that passed through my lips was; “Moula!”, Mufaddal Moula TUS replied; “Khuda farzand ne shifa apey.”

Ascend towards Him, and you are not going to return saddened.

Ae Taqi Ibn’e Taqi Ibn’e Taqi Ibn’e Taqi, Tohfa’tul Asr Ho Tum Zubda She’aron Ke Beech

Few weeks after Dubai Ashara Mubraka, I had a dream. These couple of minutes had already cemented my belief a long time ago.

To keep it short, in the dream, I saw Syedna Taher Saifuddin RA sitting on a “Gaadi“. I was surprised to see Syedna Taher Saifuddin Aqa RA, hastily, I took raza and performed qadambosi. Since Syedna Taher Saifuddin Aqa RA had kept immense nazaraat on my parents and grandparents, I tried to introduce myself. Maulana RA, with great ehsaan smiled at me and said “Maney khabar che tu kaun che”. He then asked me to meet him at some place which appeared to be a masjid or a hall.

After that, still in the dream, I was at the Dubai Daar ul Imaarat entrance from where Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin RA used to enter. He RA walked in, I took his raza mubarak for qadambosi, He RA stopped, smiled and granted raza, and I did qadambosi.

When I looked up, instead of Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin Aqa RA, I saw Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin TUS standing there smiling down at me.

I woke up immediately, not knowing what to do or what to think of it. Hence, I treasured it.

Today, when I recall the dream, I can evidently understand the connection; Syedna Taher Saifuddin RA asked me to meet him at some place, and I met Burhanuddin Moula RA instead. And when I asked Burhanuddin Moula RA for his qadambosi, I perceived Mufaddal Moula instead.

It is obvious what the dream meant.

Shaah Ke Qadmo Tale Se Wo Khazane Nikle, Jholi Le Le Ke Salateen Uthane Nikle

I was seven, and Burhanuddin Moula RA was residing in Karachi at that time.

At one instance, Shehzada Malik’ul Ashtar Bs DM took me into Moulana’s RA ghurfa mubaraka while Moula RA was already there.

I was standing inside the room, confused. I couldn’t apprehend what to do, and suddenly I saw Moulana RA looking at me and directing Shahzada Sahib DM to place me near His qadam mubarak.

I sat near Moulana’s RA qadam mubarak with my hands and legs shivering. Moulana RA kept looking at me for sometime and said “salam karo” – to which I replied with a trembling voice “moula salam karta nai awartu”.

Moulana RA reacted with a wide tabassum to my reply, and taught me how to present a salam.

And then, Moula RA blessed me with words which changed my life, as he proclaimed “tu jamea jase?” and repeated it a couple of times.

Being small, I wasn’t able to connect the episode; Moulas RA qadam mubarak, salam and then Jamea. Today, I recall this account, and associate it with Moulana Mufaddal’s TUS words; “Taher Saifuddin aqa farmawta, bhai Burhanuddin ne Lao jau, ehna qadmo na niche dowlat che”.

I am fortunate to have acquired that ‘dowlat’; Al Jamea Tus Saifiyah.

Haq Ta’ala Ne Kiya Hai Tujhe Aisa Fahhaam, Jo Tu Paata Hai Maqasid Ko Isharon Ke Beech

In 2001, Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin RA came to Chicago and my family received the sharaf of zyafat. I personally got the sharaf of presenting namak to Aqa Moula RA in the thaal.

I was only 8 years old at the time so I was very nervous and all that was going through my mind was to make sure that I kept my hands very still.

Meanwhile, my father was trying to take a picture of the moment. However, it all happened so fast that he was not able to capture the moment.

He, of course, didn’t say anything but Aqa Moula RA noticed and asked me to hold out the namak daani one more time.Namak

This time, Aqa Moula RA held out his mubarak hand for a few seconds so my father would have enough time to take a photograph.

While this moment was small, it was a true testament to how deeply Aqa Moula RA cared for mumineen. He RA did not require words to know what we wanted or what we were thinking. He RA was always connected with our hearts.

Howe Zandaan’e Museebat Mein Giriftaar Ad’u, Tere Sadqe Se Muhib Ranjo Mahan Se Nikle

When my four year old son Yusuf was in Mombasa during Ashara Mubaraka, he developed a fever that lasted for 30 days. Following Ashara Mubaraka, Mamlook e Syedna returned from Mombasa and also developed a fever.

Father and son were allotted in adjoining rooms in the hospital. My wife Samina spoke to Sheikh Khuzema bhai Sheikh Abidally and requested him to submit an araz to Moulana Muqaddas RA. The araz was submitted to Moulana RA while he was in a car in London, UK.

After listening to the araz, Moulana RA said; “Yusuf and Mohammed, beve ne shifa thaase!” The fever receded immediately for both. As always, the doctors were spellbound. They call it a miracle till date.

Tumhara Naam Chatt Karta Hai Dunya Ki Balao’n Ko, Asa’e Daste Moosa Ki Tarah Sab Ko Nigalta Hai

My father and I, after closing a property deal in Mombasa, were returning to Nairobi via train on a Saturday in 1992.  At the Mombasa Station we could only get bookings for a 2nd Class compartment and for the sake of comfort, my father urged me to speak to the Station Master and procure 1st Class Bookings which we got in a bogie that was added at the last minute, directly behind the engine.

Our journey started well and after having our dinner, we retired. In those days the first class compartments had two beds, one on top of the other. Owing to our hectic schedule in Mombasa it was not long before we were both fast asleep. Suddenly, the rhythmic noise of the train changed and we could hear the sound of gushing water. To our despair, even the lights had stopped working. It must have been between 2 and 3 a.m everything was pitch dark. At that time I asked my father if there was a river anywhere between Mombasa and Nairobi that the railway line crossed to, which he replied that there were only seasonal streams and no all-weather rivers of any sort in the area.

Slowly but steadily the water started entering our compartment and this confirmed our belief that something had gone tragically wrong with the train. In an effort to see what had actually happened and to try and escape, I desperately tried to force the compartment’s window open but to no avail. All we could hear was the thunderous sound of water gushing by.

As the water rose further, I asked my father to come onto the top bunk. The water rose further and further and in the deep darkness clutching my father’s hand, I silently prayed. I thought of my worst dread in life, to drown, which seemed to be the fate that I was going to face.

The water rose even further until there were only about four inches between the roof of the compartment. The level of the water did not stop rising. In a final appeal, I cried out to Imam Hussain AS and Burhanuddin Aqa TUS to save us. In that very instance the water stopped rising and began to slowly recede.

We were recused from the jaws of death. Literally.

It was several hours before we were able to get out of the train and reach safety.  When we emerged from the train, we noticed that we were in an area where maize was being grown and there was only one baobab tree in that vicinity against which our boggy had lodged onto, preventing it from being pulled away like the engine and the three bogies behind ours, causing the death of more than 350 lives. The train engine and four of the train cars had plunged into this area as the bridge for the railway line had collapsed in the floods. Only one fatality had occurred from our bogie, which was of a young man who had forced open the window of his compartment and drowned in the gushing force of the over-powering water.

Now, you may ask – How do I know Moula RA saved me?

I have proof.

The very next day, in the Shafahi Imtehaan in Surat, a Talabat from Arusha was asked directly by Aqa Moula RA to recount the incident of the train that had happened recently.  At that stage we had not even been able to send a fax, expressing Sajadatus Shukr in Hazrat Imamiyah when Moula RA asked this question!

Undoubtedly, only he, who had saved us, could have known of the incident.

We hear time and again, Moula TUS remind us, that when in trouble remember me and my “DUA” will hasten towards you.

And it never fails to do so.
